Read this article to determine the difference between a Finalized and Certified Document
After a Meeting is complete, there will be both a Finalized and Certified document for each signed document
- A Certified document will have all electronic fields (signatures, seals, dates, etc), and the notary's self-authenticating cryptographic certificate which cannot be edited; these Documents are "certified" with our Stavvy seal.
- A Finalized document is the version of the Document that can still have annotations edited, in cases where a Meeting has been completed and there is a missing date or any other missing annotations.
-
- If edits are needed, please review the following articles: Adding Missing Notary Fields, Adding Missing Client Fields
When downloaded, Certified Documents contain signatures and seals, while Finalized Documents do not contain signatures and seals
