Notary Profile - ID Verification

This guide walks you through completing ID Verification for your Notary Profile. 

Start the Verification

1. Enter a valid US phone number and click Send text message.
2. A text message will be sent to this number. Click the link on your phone.
3. Follow the prompts on your phone to complete the process.

Photo tips

Camera Orientation

• Hold your phone in landscape mode with the top of the device facing left when capturing the ID image.
• Incorrect orientation (portrait mode or top facing right) will cause the image to appear upside down.

Camera Position

• Position the camera directly above the document—avoid angling the phone.
• Use a dark, flat surface in a well-lit area.
• Natural lighting works best. Avoid overhead home lighting, which can create glare on the ID card.

Framing the Document

• Fill most of the screen with the document, leaving approximately 10% of the background visible around all edges.
• Ensure all four corners of the document are clearly visible in the frame.

For Passports

• Flatten the passport as much as possible.
• Position the camera directly over the bottom page (the page containing your photo).
• Avoid glare on the plastic covering.
