This guide explains the email communications you will receive and the steps for signing documents that do not require the Notary's presence or official annotations (often referred to as eSign documents).
Understanding the Email Communications
You will typically receive two types of emails related to your meeting documents:
| Email Type | Purpose | Action Required |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Documents Available for Signing (eSign) | Alerts you that documents are available for you to sign within a specified Signing Window. These are documents where the Notary does not need to apply a signature or seal. | Required: You must sign these documents before your scheduled notarization meeting. |
| 2. Documents Available for Preview | Alerts you that the full set of closing documents, including those requiring the Notary, is available for review. | Optional: Use this email to review all documents ahead of the meeting. |
Pre-Signing Your Documents (eSign)
Follow these steps to access and complete the documents sent for signature ahead of your meeting:
- Access the Signer Portal: Click the "View my closing portal" button found within either of the emails you received.
- Review and Accept eConsent: Upon logging into the portal, you will be prompted to review and accept the electronic signature consent (eConsent) agreement.
- Confirm Signature Appearance: Once eConsent is accepted, you will have the opportunity to confirm or change your electronic signature appearance.
- Begin Signing: Once the Signing Window is open, click the "Sign documents" button to begin the signing process.
- Complete Annotations: Follow the Sign tabs throughout the document to click and complete all required initials and signatures. Tip: The number of remaining fields is indicated at the top of the page, helping you track your progress.
- Finalize Signing: When all fields have been completed, click the "Finish Signing" button to submit your documents.
Note: You can click "Preview documents" at any time to review the documents before starting the signing process.
