Technical Support & Limitations
Corporate Security & Work Computers
If you are joining from an employer-issued laptop or computer, please be aware that strict corporate security settings or firewalls may block your camera, microphone, or the Stavvy video stream entirely.
Recommendation: If possible, use a personal computer on a private home network to ensure an uninterrupted connection.
Hardware & Connectivity Disclaimer
While Stavvy support can assist with platform-related issues, we are unable to provide technical troubleshooting for personal hardware or local network environments. This includes:
- Camera or microphone malfunctions and driver updates.
- Local internet service provider (ISP) outages or instability.
- Configuration of individual device security or privacy settings.
For hardware-specific issues, please consult your device manufacturer or a qualified IT professional.
Recommended Meeting Prep
Follow these steps 10β15 minutes before your scheduled meeting time to avoid delays:
- Test Your Hardware: Run a Device and Network Test to verify that your camera and microphone are connected.
- Check Internet Speed: Use an Internet Speed Test. For a stable video connection, the minimum speed is 30 Mbps.
- Optimize Your Browser: Update Chrome to the latest version and clear your cookies and cache.
- Disable VPNs: Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) can block video streams. Please ensure your VPN is turned off before joining.
- Access Your Email: Ensure you can access your inbox on your computer to receive a code to join the meeting.
Pro-Tip: Closing unnecessary browser tabs and background applications (like Zoom or Teams) during the meeting will help maintain a high-quality connection.
