Review the most frequently asked questions for signers attending a Remote Online Notarization (RON) meeting via the Stavvy platform.
1. Preparation and Access
Question
Answer
How can I prepare for the RON meeting?
Ensure you have reviewed the technical requirements (a strong internet connection, functioning camera/mic) and have your non-expired, government-issued photo ID ready. For detailed steps, review your "Signers Guide to Joining a Meeting" and "Meeting Checklist" articles.
How do I access the virtual meeting?
You must check your email inbox for the official invitation. The email title is typically "Remote Signing with [Host Name/Company]". Click the Join Meeting button within the email to enter the virtual signing room.
What if I didn't receive the invitation email?
Please immediately reach out to the Host of your meeting (the person who scheduled it). They can verify they have the correct email address on file and resend the invitation link to you.
How do I reschedule the meeting?
All scheduling changes must be handled by the organizer. Please reach out directly to the Host of your meeting to arrange a new date and time.
2. During the Meeting
Question
Answer
Can I join the meeting on the same device as another Signer?
Yes. When you join the meeting, the platform will prompt you to select whether you are joining the meeting alone or with another person who are physically present with you.
Does the Knowledge-Based Assessment (KBA) affect my credit score?
No. The Knowledge-Based Assessment (KBA) you take during the meeting is purely for identity verification and does not involve a credit check or impact your credit score.
I confirmed my signature, but realized it's incorrect. How can I change it?
If the signature has NOT yet been applied to the document: Click the Signature button at the bottom of the page to update or edit your signature style.
If the signature HAS already been applied: Immediately inform the Notary. They have the ability to delete the applied signature field so you can update and re-apply it.
3. Third-Party Attendance
Question
Answer
I want someone to attend the meeting, but they donβt need to sign documents.
You need an Observer added. Please let your Host know in advance that you would like a third party to attend so they can be added to the meeting as an Observer.
I was invited as an Observer. What does that mean?
An Observer is able to join the meeting to watch the proceedings but will not be required to verify their identity (KBA/ID) or sign any documents. They are present solely to observe.
4. Post-Meeting
Question
Answer
How can I access the signed documents after the meeting?
Your final, signed documents can be accessed via the Signer Portal. You can log in directly at: https://connect.stavvy.com/signer/portal and click "View Documents".
