Welcome to your IPEN signing! This guide provides a simple overview of what to expect before, during, and after your In-Person Electronic Notarization meeting.
Before Your IPEN Meeting
- Review the Invitation: You will receive an official meeting invitation email from Stavvy containing all the necessary meeting details (date, time, and location).
- Prepare Required Items: Please review the IPEN Signer FAQ for a list of required items, specifically your non-expired, government-issued ID and your smartphone for identity verification and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
- Pre-Signing Documents (If Applicable): You may be sent documents to review or sign before the scheduled meeting. These are typically documents that do not require the Notary's annotation or supervision. Please complete these ahead of time if instructed.
During the IPEN Meeting
The meeting is held in person with the Notary and all signers present. The key steps are:
| Steps | Description |
|---|---|
| Identity Verification | The Notary will begin the session by verifying your identity. This process typically involves checking your government-issued ID and may require you to use your smartphone camera to capture images of your ID for platform security. |
| Authentication | You will use your smartphone to complete the Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to securely log into the signing platform. |
| Electronic Signing | The Notary will facilitate the signing on an electronic device (usually a laptop or tablet). The device will be passed between the Notary and the signers to review and place electronic signatures and initials. |
| Notarization | The Notary will apply the final electronic notarial seal and certification. |
After the Meeting
Access Documents: Once the meeting is officially concluded and finalized by the Notary, you can download all of your completed and notarized documents through the Signer Portal by visiting the link in the "Meeting Ended" email notification.
