How to Download and Upload Your IdenTrust Certificate (MacOS)

Important: IdenTrust is a separate, third-party identity verification provider that operates independently from Stavvy. Stavvy does not have access to your IdenTrust account, login credentials, or personal information stored with IdenTrust.

IdenTrust has instructions here: Retrieving Your Software Certificate

1. Click the link www.identrust.com/install in the email from Identrust.
2. Click the I'm Ready - Please Check if My System is Ready button. 
3. Enter your Activation Code (from the email) and the Account Password created when you purchased the certificate.
4. Click the checkbox to agree to the Agreement and click Next.
5. Download and Run the IdenTrust Retrieval Application 
6. Drag the key from the IdenTrust site over to the lock in the Application, or click Copy Key below the key, and paste it into the Application.
7. Once authenticated, click Generate Keys. Both your signing and encryption certificates will be downloaded and installed.
8. Now, verify the information in your certificate.
9. Select See My Cert, Test My Cert, or Done.
10. Verify certificate retrieval
11. You will be prompted to enter the password that you use for your Mac and click Allow. This is saving the certificates to your Apple Keychain.
12. You have now successfully purchased and downloaded your IdenTrust certificate! You will receive a confirmation email from IdenTrust once the process is completed.
13. Locate and export your certificate by opening your Keychain Access folder on your computer. Search for the Keychain Access app on your computer. With the new MacOS update, you may receive the message below. If you do, select the Open Keychain Access option.
14. Under Default Keychains, click on login. 
15. Click My Certificates, and your IdenTrust certificates should be listed below.
16. To export the certificate, click the drop-down menu next to your name.
17. Right-click the certificate that is not encrypted, select Export, and then Save.
18. Create a password for the certificate, and select OK. This is important. Please store this password securely. You will need it to upload the certificate to your Stavvy Notary profile.
19. Enter your keychain password and select Allow. The certificate will be saved to your computer.

Adding the Certificate to your Stavvy Notary Profile 

1. Log in to connect.stavvy.com
2. Click on your name at the top right corner, click Settings
3. Click the Notary tab.
4. Go to Step 4: Digital Certificate, click Upload Document, and locate the non-encrypted version of your certificate on your computer.
5. Next, enter the certificate password.  This is the password you created in step #18 of the previous section. This is NOT your IdenTrust account password.
6. When complete, the screen should display a message indicating that the upload was successful.

NOTE: Wait 20-30 seconds for the upload to complete and the screen to update.
