Review the article below for all possible Signer Verification results a notary can expect.
There are 5 sections:
-
KBA - Knowledge Based Authentication. IDology (our KBA provider) generates 5 questions at random based on the Signer’s personal information and credit history.
-
Credential Analysis - The Signer must upload a picture (front and back) of their ID. IDology, our ID scan provider, facilitates this workflow and provides feedback on its analysis.
-
SSN - An analysis of the SSN the Signer provided, performed by IDology.
-
Geolocation - The Signer’s IP address and current city/state are provided to the Notary.
-
Biometrics - A face compare analysis of the Signer’s selfie (Signer takes a selfie when uploading a picture of their ID) against the front of the ID that the Signer uploaded. A comparison score is provided, performed by IDology.
KBA
Pass/Fail Threshold
The Signer must get at least a 4 out of 5 to pass
The Signer will fail if they get 2 or more questions incorrect
Possible Workflows
Failed 1st KBA attempt. The Notary is permitted to prompt the Signer to retry.
Signer failed both KBA attempts (only 2 KBA fails are permitted within a 24-hour timeframe).
-
The Signer will automatically fail Verification
-
The Result, Failure categories, and reason for failure will pre-populate for the Notary. The Notary is only able to modify the Reason for failure text, if desired
-
The Notary will be unable to Pass the Signer
-
The Notary still has the option to select Personally Known
