If a signature button is grayed out during a session, it usually means a specific action needs to be taken before the system allows you to sign. Follow the steps below based on who is experiencing the issue.
Signer's Signature is Grayed Out
If your signers are sharing a single device, the system needs to be told exactly who is currently interacting with the screen.
- The Cause: Multiple signers are joined on the same device, and the active Signer hasn't been switched.
- The Solution: Have the signers look at the panel on the left side of their screen. They must click and select the next Signer's name to pass the pen.
- Tip: The current active Signer will always be highlighted in purple.
Notary's Signature is Grayed Out
As a notary, you cannot sign the document until your signers have completed all required actions.
- The Cause: One or more signers have left a required field (such as a signature, initial, etc) incomplete.
- The Solution:
- Look at the upper right corner of your screen and click on required remaining.
- If the Signer(s) show a required annotation remaining, click on their Name to scroll to that annotation.
- Once they finish, your annotations will become active.
- Look at the upper right corner of your screen and click on required remaining.
