This guide will help you understand the purpose, content, location, and key features of the Stavvy Audit Trail for certified documents.
What is the Audit Trail?
The Audit Trail is a comprehensive, chronological record of all activity and actions taken on a Certified Document within the Stavvy platform. It is a critical component for ensuring the security and legal compliance of your e-signed and e-notarized documents.
Key Security Feature
Each Stavvy Audit Trail contains a Stavvy tamper-proof seal, which validates that the document and the audit log have not been altered since certification.
Information Captured
The Audit Trail displays each Signer's signature and eConsent date. The Audit Trail logs the following key data points for every action:
- Time (UTC): When the action occurred.
- User: Who performed the action (Name/Email).
- Action: The specific event that occurred (e.g., Document Signed, Meeting Joined, ID Verified).
- IP Address: The IP address from which the action was performed.
Where to Find the Audit Trail
The Audit Trail is automatically generated for any Remote Online Notarization (RON) Meeting, In-Person Electronic Notarization (IPEN), and eSign Packet that results in completed, Certified documents.
- Go to the Transaction: Navigate to the meeting or packet
- Select the Documents Tab: Click on the Documents tab.
- Locate the Audit File: Look for the file named:
certified_Stavvy-Document Name_audit_trail.pdf. - Download: Click the Download button to the right of the file name.
⚠️ Time Zone Warning
The time on the Audit Trail will not be displayed in your local time zone. It is listed exclusively in UTC (Coordinated Universal Time). Please use an external tool to convert UTC timestamps to your local time.
