This guide provides instructions and necessary details for uploading documents into your Stavvy session and correctly setting their signing properties.
Step 1: Uploading the Document
- Navigate to the transaction: Go to the desired Meeting Details page, eSign Packet, or File/Order.
- Access Upload: Under the Documents tab, click the Upload button.
- Select Files: A file window will appear. You can either:
- Click within the window to browse and select files from your computer.
- Drag and drop files directly from your computer into the upload area.
- Confirm Upload: Click Upload to initiate the transfer to Stavvy.
⚠️ File Type Restriction
Non-PDF files cannot be annotated (tagged for signature fields) within Stavvy and will be automatically marked as Read-Only. For full functionality, documents must be uploaded in PDF format.
Step 2: Defining Document Properties (Required & Optional)
After uploading, you must select the Signing Type (required) and may optionally select the Document Type.
A. Signing Types (Required)
You must select one of the following to define how the document will be processed:
| Signing Type | Description | Annotation Capability |
|---|---|---|
| eSign | Documents that will be electronically tagged and signed by a client using Stavvy. | Yes (Recommended Default) |
| Wet Sign | Documents that will be signed by ink outside of the Stavvy session. | No |
| Read Only | Documents that require viewing but will not be signed. These are informational only. | No |
Note on Wet Sign: When selecting 'Wet Sign,' you will be prompted to specify if the document you are uploading has already been signed or not.
B. Document Types (Optional)
Document Type is for organizational purposes and is optional.
- You can select a document type from the drop-down list (e.g., Mortgage, Deed, Disclosure).
- If your required type is not listed, select the Other option.
